Carl Johnson left the San Andreas neighborhood of Los Santos five years ago, when it used to be being ripped apart by drugs and gangs. When he returns in the early 90s, his mother has been killed, his circle of relatives has fallen apart and childhood friends are criminals. Crooked cops frame Carl for murder, and he makes a decision to save himself and his circle of relatives – by taking over the streets.
