Description
Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire by 50%, and that is the reason important because a home fire starts every 83 seconds! The faster you know about a fire, the faster you’ll be able to start moving your family outside. The First Alert smoke alarm with escape light not only alerts you to smoke and fire with a loud 85-decibel alarm, but also illuminates your path to safety. It uses ionization smoke sensing technology with a new contemporary enhanced smoke gathering design. It also features a low battery alert to remind you when to change the battery and has a missing battery guard to be sure that a battery is placed inside the alarm. The side battery drawer slides open for easy battery replacement. A blinking power indicator on the unit confirms that it is receiving power. The silence/test button permits you to both silence a non-threatening alarm and to test the unit’s functionality. The alarm contains an optional pin to lock the battery and unit in place for tamper resistance. It may be mounted on either the ceiling or the wall and can be used in mobile homes and RVs. It includes one 9-volt battery and has a 10-year limited warranty. Replaces the old SA150 model. UL listed for safety. Not permitted for sale in Oregon.–Bree Norlander
What’s in the Box
One smoke alarm, user’s manual, and one 9-volt battery
To test the light You will need to test this unit every week to make sure it is working properly. The usage of the Test/Silence button is the recommended way to test this Smoke Alarm. Press and hold the Test/Silence button on the cover of the unit until the alarm sounds and the Escape Light turns on (the unit may continue to alarm for a couple of seconds after you release the button). If it does not alarm, make sure the unit is receiving power and test it again. If it still does not alarm, replace it immediately. All through testing you are going to hear a loud, repeating horn pattern: 3 beeps, pause, 3 beeps, pause. The Escape Light will turn on. LED flashes once every second
